Curriculum
Within the group all the children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. Our key-worker system enables us to deliver a curriculum tailored to the needs of each child. Through appropriate play activities and a high level of individual adult input, we offer a curriculum that enables children to progress towards the Early Years Foundation Stage. These are the six areas of learning: -
Creative Development
Exploring ways to represent feeling and experiences through art, music, dance, role-play and imaginative play
Physical Development
Improving strength, skill and control by using co-ordination and manipulative movement
Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
Learning through practical maths concepts such as numbers, size, shapes, space and measure
Personal, social and emotional development
Developing independence, confidence and the ability to share and take turns. To provide experience and support to enable children to develop a positive sense of themselves.
Communication, language and literacy
Communicating through books, stories, rhymes, role-play and conversation
Knowledge and understanding of the world
Learning about the world around us through practical experience, discussion, exploration, problem solving and decision making
